IELTS UKVI
Asian Education Consultants - AEC > IELTS UKVI

Unable to distinguish between the IELTS Academic and IELTS UKVI Academic tests? Well, we’ve got you covered. In terms of the test's format, there is no difference at all. The format of the four modules (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is the same, as is the examiner and test difficulty level. The IELTS for UKVI, however, differs slightly from simple IELTS in terms of how it is administered. The IELTS UKVI is a secure English Language Test (SELT) given in an environment where test takers are observed by cameras, and CCTV footage is captured to be shared with the test administrators. Due to these administrative safeguards, the test is regarded as secure and free of any potential for forgery or cheating.
There are few conditions when you must give IELTS UKVI. For example if you want to apply for non-higher education institutes, pre-sessional or foundation courses, then IELTS UKVI is required. However, if you are applying for a bachelor's or master's program in any English speaking country then you can opt for either UKVI or simple IELTS Academic. You should also steer clear from a myth that IELTS UKVI is acceptable only in the UK. That’s not quite true, you can use your test results to apply for other English speaking countries as well.
